I’m based in Connecticut. I’ve been building things on the web since around 2008, and noticing when things are a little off for about as long.
Most of the work on this site started with something small that was wrong: a typo, a twenty-five-minute build, a brown sign I couldn’t identify from the highway, an accessibility grade that was a D when it should have been an A. Fixing that kind of thing is most of the job, and it’s usually what gives a team its afternoons back.
Since July 2026 I’ve been lead developer at Univar Solutions, a chemical distributor, on two iPhone and iPad apps that run on top of SAP. One of them was still on Angular 17 when I got there, and I’ve already rewritten it in Nuxt 4. Before that I spent 2021–2025 leading the in-house rebuild of TriNet’s corporate website, from Vue 2/Nuxt to Vue 3/Astro. Its accessibility grade went from a D to an A, and I got the build from 25 minutes down to 1. Earlier I was an independent consultant for three years, and before that I worked at North American Power and at DiscoverOrg, which is now ZoomInfo.
The job hasn’t changed much in that time: it still has to work, it has to be fast and accessible, and the code should be easier to work in when I leave than when I arrived.
The last few years added a second toolkit. I taught myself Swift and SwiftUI because the side projects had started turning into apps instead of websites. They’re native, they keep your data on the device, and I’m as picky about them as I am about the code I get paid for.
The apps so far are Debt Descent, ModernPAR, Brown Sign, ReKey, Saddle, and Kelvin Caliper. When I’m not building one, I’m writing, or hiking, or ignoring all of the above.
